Dr Lul Abdiwahid holds credible credentials: She holds an Honoree Doctorate in Humanities from United Graduate College and Seminary International, USA, a Masters in International Law (LLM) from the University of Warwick England and LLB from University of Kent, Canterbury. She has been awarded the World Civility Ambassador, Ambassador for Peace from the Universal Federation of Peace she has also been named among the top 100 most influential Kenyan Muslim, and most recently named the World Civility Icon woman of the year, Africa 2019. She was more recently honored in the United Kingdom, Luton by the Greatness University with the Light Of Greatness Award.
Additionally, Dr. Lul is member of the Law society of Kenya (LSK), Mombasa Law Society (MLS), Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIARB Kenya), iChange Nations and also a member of the Standards Tribunal.
Dr. Lul Abdiwahid is an entrepreneur, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a philanthropist who enjoys spending most of reading motivational books and traveling.
This experience drove her to think of effective ways to solve this problem. A law degree from the UK was a great starting point; she joined the Kenya School of Law and got admitted to the Bar. After which she set up Abdiwahid and Associates law firm. Through her practice, she handled over 100 pro bono cases on gender inequality, discrimination and gender based violence.
She is also the founder of one of the most competitive professional cleaning and waste management companies in Kenya, Salu Solutions Ltd. The company specializes in professional cleaning services for Industrial, Commercial and Domestic needs having served over 150 prestigious businesses. Since its inception, the company has created employment for over 110 youths and women who traditionally couldn’t be employed due to their lack of the requisite experience and qualifications.
Dr. Lul is passionate about women and youth empowerment. She hopes that time will come when equal opportunities will be available to everyone no matter their gender. Moreover, economic and social justice is her dream for every woman, youth and child in Africa. Through the foundation, Dr. Lul vision to have an educated and skillful population in the near future is being fulfilled gradually. She believes that a peaceful living community will be attained by empowering the masses and that is her major focus.
Furthermore, Dr. Lul’s high level interaction with government officials, special envoys and global leaders has led Pure Pearl Foundation to become a force to recon with in the East African Region. This was evident in the recent Global Women conference hosted by the foundation. The GWC (2019) was the first of its own kind in the region where renowned inspirational speakers from the globe graced the event. The keynote speaker was the secretary general of UNCTAD – United Nation Conference of Trade and Development, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi. Other speakers also included: Jacqueline Mims a Former Aerospace Technologist at NASA, Reuben West an expert in motivational speaking and corporate training, H.E Governor of Mombasa Hassan Joho and Di Downie a solution specialist among others.
